Ugh...I really want shoes like the ones she is wearing in the still, but I cannot find them online anywhere...

Also, obligatory WTF @ Pete Davidson. I hope he has enough sense not to contact her.

the bridge is excellent. its a normal pop song, but the production elevates it.

So I finally heard this song and actually do like it but is the consensus that she actually wrote it herself or that it was ghostwritten?

It's cool if she actually did write it herself, but I kinda got the feeling it was carefully crafted for this drama and saying she wrote it is part of the story. Like it reminded me of Wrecking Ball and Skyscraper where the songs were so on point for where Miley & Demi each were in their lives that at first you kind of assumed they wrote the songs (or at least were gonna say that they did), but actually it was a whole team of people and neither of them had a songwriting credit.

Just curious whether I'm the only cynical one or if anyone else was thinking the same thing!

I think this was actually just written by Olivia with the help of her producer. She's always uploading songs she writes on instagram and this particular one was posted in July. Back before she had a record deal.

hm i don't see why she wouldn't have written it. she posts a lot of her songwriting process on instagram (a lot of bananies and avocadies stuff iirc lol). she didn't work on it by herself though. dan nigro from as tall as lions co-wrote and produced it. he's worked with caroline polachek, empress of, sky ferreira, etc. there's a series from nyt where they talk to artists about songs they've written, and she and dan did one about "drivers license" recently

I don't have a driver's license, Olivia! How am I supposed to relate? I AM A PEDESTRIAN. These boots were made for walking.
