Excellent songwriters craft songs for others or even help artists develop a lot of song lyrics and do the heavy lifting on them.
This notion that you have to have this personal experience with everyone song is so damn bogus. Nothing against Olivia Rodrigo she’s just a kid. But great writers can draw on fictional pieces of work or even others actual experiences. Sometimes things are just concepts as well. It’s a muscle you exercise and will be able to use if needed if you’re really disciplined with it.
