I'm too old to know what the story is with any of these kids, so I guess I'm going to have to google it.

Taylor Lautner is 2 years and 2 months younger than her so calling her predatory for that relationship feels really stupid.

Google tells me that she met the Kennedy kid like 3 weeks before his 18th birthday, which is definitely more questionable though.

Someone in a previous post mentioned that Sabrina Carpenter’s family was involved with Scientology. I’m not trying to be all conspiracy theory-ish and suggest that’s had a role in her career LMAO, I guess I’m just curious whether this is public knowledge or not?

Her aunt is Nancy Cartwright aka the voice of Bart Simpson, is a noted Scientologist. She gave something like $17 million in donations to the church a few years ago and there was this in 2019 where she funded billboard for an anti-psychiatry campaign: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/claudiakoerner/know-more-about-drugs-scientology-billboards-los-angeles

after this song I think she’ll have an okay debut... social media is the reason that it’s doing good.

I don’t think you need to have some super personal connection to something to necessarily craft or write about it. As long as it’s not being presented as a strictly autobiographical piece.
Excellent songwriters craft songs for others or even help artists develop a lot of song lyrics and do the heavy lifting on them.
This notion that you have to have this personal experience with everyone song is so damn bogus. Nothing against Olivia Rodrigo she’s just a kid. But great writers can draw on fictional pieces of work or even others actual experiences. Sometimes things are just concepts as well. It’s a muscle you exercise and will be able to use if needed if you’re really disciplined with it.

I think she was talking more about this specific situation with Sabrina rather than in general. You’re so right though it’s important to stretch yourself creatively and in the words of Toni Morrison (to her creative writing students) “you don’t know anything” lol
