Considering the subject matter and Jordan Peele etc. this actually shocks me but I know it shouldn’t

is there some shadiness between jordan peele and daniel kaluuya? because peele would have the power to invite him right so this is so weird to me.

I was wondering that too. Neither of them seem the petty/dramatic type though so yeah IDK

It's probably not, as Daniel will be in his next film. My guess in the roundup was Universal dropped the ball.

That’s shady but I agree with the “you don’t wanna be where you’re not wanted” sentiment

On the topic of that - Daniel you’re invited to the nightly premiere of MY BODY - special showing just for you, no ticket necessary xoxo

like, was this just a mistake on someone's part, or did they actually deliberately not invite the fucking lead of the movie?

I wanna know this looks really bad on Jordan Peele and the studio well pretty much everyone involved

Maybe this was a “well of fucking course he’s invited” kinda situation, like you wouldn’t even QUESTION it cause it’s so obvious so JP/the studio would just assume he was square, but that’s a flop on his assistant or manager or agent for not like. Following up once they got closer to the date? Did his team reach out with a “did my invite get lost in the mail?” kind of a thing

I was once at a big film festival screening of a documentary about a well-known band and they apparently invited the famous and famously dead band member. So not everyone in charge of invitations at a film festival the size of Sundance is always firing on all cylinders.

But not inviting everyone in the cast is kind of the opposite idiocy. Which makes it really strange because Sundance has no reason to pull this. Whether DK is at Sundance makes no difference to the festival itself. However, they were given a cast list. And someone who was not part of the festival, organized getting the cast to Sundance (it's not exactly in LA central) - hotels, flights, food - and paid for that. Sundance would have found an empty seat for the movie's lead in the theatre if he turned up.

But that the movie's PR team couldn't bother getting him a flight is what makes me think this has nothing to do with the festival's organizers.

Jordan, answer for your actions! He did have control, I don't want to hear it!
