apparently the Chuu accuser really went to school with her, but is backtracking to hell and back and BBC has hired a big ass law company or something.

This whole thing is a mess, I swear.

Really wish the Korean GP took sexual violence this seriously.

I have, my entire life, considered sexual abuse to be the absolute worst thing you can do. I’m finally starting to realize some people truly don’t agree and I’m?? How can you be so strictly against violence but then just shrug when women are being attacked and raped? Like I do not get it and it actually makes me so angry I feel sick.

Because men can be bullied but most sexual assaults happen to women and is therefore seen as a women’s issue and men in SK are anti-feminist.

I feel you. I agree with the poster above. There is so much victim blaming when it comes to sexual assault, and all these men protect each other. Even when someone is convicted of sexual violence, they don't serve much time. Laws are rooted in value systems afterall.

That popular searches thing seems awful but maybe i’m misreading it.

Yeah, on rereading, it may seem wrong. Naver, is removing the option by which you can check the popular searches of the day. So effectively, people won't know what's trending in South Korea in searches. Which is how news spreads.

That still seems super fucked! It’s a way to push propaganda and hive mind and the idea of that becoming normal is pretty scary. Very dystopian I guess :(

Glad I didn’t finish making that post lol.

I think Soojin will be forced to leave G-idle. I genuinely think it’s a wrap for her.

She's their second most popular member after soyeon. It will definitely impact the group, but she's also not as integral to the group, as soyeon, I think.

Soyeon was also accused of being a bully

How is it that it only ever seems to be celebrities who have bullied when younger and are being called out now?
Never politicians or police officials or other authorities?

South Korea has severe defamation laws. If people are afraid to call out celebs before wtf would they call out politicians? Police officials aren’t celebrities and aren’t in the public eye. And most politicians are old(er). The oldest person called out was Hyuna who’s 28. Age is also an important factor because the schools used to be able to punish problematic kids up until I wanna say the mid 2000s. Anyone who bullied students got dealt with by the administration. Now schools can’t punish students which fosters bullying because the bullies can get away with it.

This is great info, thanks for giving me more perspective.
The problem with being a Western fan of K-pop is that unless someone explains things, it's easy to see things through an incorrect lens.

I think they pay off/silence their earlier victims.
