BHs everywhere are having a meltdown and it's almost as fun as actually watching Brachie rise. However, I think this will be very short-lived as they already made sure to have VA and BJ awkwardly talk about ~the past and then stare at each there. And if you know any CW shows - staring is the key to everything lmao.
There's no way Barchie will be short-lived, especially because they're starting as fwb who will fall in love once again and go steady. Lili is having fun not having to film with her ex and she's RAS's fave, so we may get Barchie for a while. Also, RAS actually ships Barchie and it's his show, so.
Based on the pilot, in particular, it has always seemed to me that the show had envisioned doing more with Betty/Archie than ended up being the case, which I would say was the result of Betty/Jughead becoming so huge that the writers were reluctant to do too much in any other direction. So you just got occasional nods in the direction of maybe something happening, but then pulling back from it.
The writers must have known that with the time skip it was now or never.
Also, that was probably the hottest sex scene on the show to date.
the showrunner actually said in an interview the other day that bughead was a burden (exact word he used) and didn’t let them write the stories they wanted to and the time jump gave them the chance to finally do it
