As a therapist, one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to mental health and therapy in media is when therapists sleep with their clients.

He should've covered the third season of Ozark, that was a straight up human rights violation.

Oops, sorry! I didn't mean to reply to you. Although I totally agree with your point!

I couldn't finish season 2 of The Punisher because of that storyline. It disgusts me.

Real therapy/counselling is delightfully mundane, fwiw.

i find the idea of therapy for myself entirely off-putting as well. i am so guarded and cloistered up and i don't see that ever changing. i am sure i have shit i could unpack from my adolescence, but there's no denying my issues need prescription intervention so i just decided to skip a step.

AHS is v v v v v v v v far away from anything resembling reality. Please do not let Ryan Murphy prevent you from seeking help if you need it. I swear to god I didn't think I could detest him more than I already do.

I’ll watch this in the morning. Though, this man looks like Erik Singer with glasses. Are we sure he’s really a psychologist and Singer isn’t diversifying his business?

His take on Bojack (being surprised that a cartoon is so spot on about so many issues) is so common. I'm always recommending Bojack to everyone but most people can't see past it being a cartoon. It's the best Netflix show (and one of the best shows) I've ever watched.

And man, I really need to get laid bc that psychiatrist is making me feel things with his oddly attractive wonky face.

I still think Girl, Interrupted did a great job. Maybe I just have a soft spot for it bc come on, Winona, Angie, Brittany Murphy, Whoopie, Angela Bettis....I’m missing some here. The cast was just so perfect.

It never gets mentioned bc it’s a soap opera but the way Hollyoaks did Hannah’s eating disorder back in the day was so good. I still haven’t seen a show that actually had an ED storyline go on that long and that gradually and just...so realistically. I don’t get why it’s so hard to hire people that know the subject you’re working with =\

It helps that the source material is a memoir.
