Emily In Paris is a terrible show, period. I am first the person to enjoy shows like Gossip Girl Season 1, Sex and the City, Younger and The Bold Type which I think were all good enjoyable shows but Emily in Paris had NO SUBSTANCE. The plots were terrible, none of the lines were witty, Emily and everyone else are all vapid one-dimensional characters and the entire season felt like a very long fashion commercial or influencer vlog.

Completely agree. I found nothing redeemable about Emily in Paris, not even the fashion, which I thought was insane and not in a good way. I can't remember the last time I watched a show with such an unlikable main character.

People've been comparing Emily and Bridgerton and for me Bridgerton wins hands down. At least it had gorgeous costumes and a few different plotlines to get involved in if you didn't care for one in particular. Emily in Paris is ALL EMILY and Emily is the worst so there's no one to root for or care about.

Exactly, it was EMPTY. The only redeeming quality it had was eye candy, that's it. Eye candy does not make a good show.

i don't disagree with the criticisms of emily in paris being nominated but that show was competing in a different category, it didn't have anything to do with IMDY being snubbed

IMDY + michaela should have been nominated over the undoing + nicole in limited series. the undoing was awful.

that said, golden globes have always and will always be trash and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Yeah I agree that the comparison is kind of weird because they weren't competing against each other. And it's true that HFPA always throws in a couple whackadoo choices. Remember when they gave Lena Dunham Best Actress for season 1 of Girls? Although season 1 of Girls is like The Godfather compared to Emily in Paris...

the globes also nominated james corden and that shitty sia musical that has a 29% on rotten tomatoes this year, they're trash

I don't think Emily in Paris was awful, it was cute and escapism but it does not warrant an nomination.

I have a silly question, why wasn't Insecure nominated? Did it not meet the timeline?

It’s not silly I too am confused about insecure not being nominated!

It came out last may so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be eligible
