yeah I don't doubt sexism was at play, but girl was also notoriously rude.

And? Rapists, and wife-beaters, and complete and utter assholes of the HIGHEST FUCKING ORDER continue to get hired and treated like they're awesome and don't get ripped apart on the daily like she did and still is. Why? Because she's a GIRL.

was she known for being genuinely difficult on set or did she just have the world's most professionally "difficult" case of foot-in-mouth syndrome?

she didn't lie about either knocked up or grey's but also, wow she really did not care about networking I guess lol

These are the HORRIBLE things that Katherine Heigl did:

- They did work around her movie schedule and the crew worked long hours and she (stupidly) used that as a "funny" anecdote on a talk show about how she had to work such long hours at Grey's.

- She didn't put her name up for Emmy consideration because the writing was trash and she didn't want to be honored for trash when other actresses/writers deserved it more (although she said it nicer).

- She did mention when she won something that her name was said incorrectly. (GASP! How dare she.)

- She called out Isaiah Washington for calling her best friend/co-star T.R. Knight the "f" word and essentially skating on it, and making T.R. feel like shit on set. NO ONE ELSE CARED. Shonda didn't give a fuck. Shonda only fired him because of the optics. Katherine kept harping on it though because T.R. was FUCKING MISERABLE.

- She called out Knocked Up for being sexist after the fact. Why after the fact? Because she had money, and power and was a lot more successful then and could do it ( ... )

Shonda didn’t even fire IW because of optics, the higher ups FORCED her. She didn’t want to do it. She was pissed and basically alienated TR and gave him shit storylines as a result. And Katherine too. Ghost sex was ridiculous. I don’t blame her for not returning after maternity leave. She has also talked about how much she was struggling to bond with her oldest daughter and that was taking a toll on her.

Ooh, you're right. I edited my post below that repeated this info. Shonda was basically dead to me after all of this shit. She screwed both Katie and T.R. so hard. They were my two faves.

She didn't lie re Knocked Up but then again I don't think the men in that film covered themselves in glory either.

I haven’t seen that movies in years but I remember thinking you’re kinda supposed to root for her character and question why she’s staying with Seth when he’s such a flop!

You sign a bit of relief when he starts to shape up by the end.

I feel like the vibe was that we were supposed to root for them though, and hope she would relax and get on board with it.

Idk I do remember this gang's next movie was Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where we were supposed to root for sad Jason Segel after he is dumped by his "horrible" girlfriend, who had the nerve to not want to stick by him while he was unemployed and sitting on the couch all day and making no effort to get a job. And the rumor at the time was this was inspired by his breakup with Linda Cardellini.

Ugh, it left such a bad taste in my mouth,. Like oh yes, women are so terrible, why can't they be more understanding when men just want their girlfriends to be their mothers???

I'm not sure that was the takeaway. Sarah isn't the villain, we're meant to empathise with both characters. Jason Segel was a total doormat/shlub and a shitty boyfriend, and his character arc is about growing the fuck up. We're not meant to think Sarah is horrible for breaking up with him.

She was singeld out and treated quite unfairly imho. She did not lie back then (the season of Greys she did not want the Emmy nomination for did her dirty, she was right) and still does not.
