It is Wednesday my dudes.

Woke up and saw the rest of the comments from the DOGUS post. I’ve thought a lot of about the vibe that was stirring and I just kind of want to say something. It’s not the longest thing I’ve ever written but I have feeeeeelliinnggs so it’s under a cut.

[Spoiler (click to open)]For a majority of users and lurkers, ONTD is an escape. You may come here to avoid work, family, a relationship, loud neighbors, financial trouble, heartache, anger. Whatever the case, big or small, most of us come here to take our minds off things for a while. There’s a sense of community where we can give each other advice, provide support, and debate. While the topics here range from the shallow to the deeply troubling, there’s a sense that ONTD is a collective of people trying to do the best they can with the cards they’ve been dealt. I think it’s fair to say that this is the general consensus of what ONTD currently is... )

The users who were doing the most are the usual suspects who I generally ignore in any political posts and don't reply to if they reply to a comment of mine.

anyone who was like "wow how dare you like pictures of dogs. this clearly means you agree with everything Biden has ever done and ever will do"

shut upppppppppppp

let me enjoy pictures of doggggs and like speak up when Biden does something I disagree with!

It's all just become a competition to show who is the most enlightened and wokest of them all. This is celebrity gossip site that debates whether male actors are hot or just tall lol Nobody is expecting an in depth discussion of political theory and discourse but it makes some people feel better to be antagonistic on a livejournal community in 2021 lol

this is what it boils down to, and I definitely spend way less time here because of it.

I spent ALL morning yesterday catching up at my library after having no power for a week. I was also hurrying because we were being told to evacuate ahead of the storm so I sent out 21 packages and 188 books.

And my hips really hurt now.

It's also just...gloomy now. I cancelled all my appointments for the rest of the week for this. It's supposed to start raining in a bit though and not stop until tomorrow evening?

21 packages and 188 books?! You are a library superstar, tbh!

Still haven’t gotten an answer about what’s going on with my study abroad.... guess I’ll send a follow up.

Ugh I’m all bloated and cramp-y today. I’m in a zoom info meeting for a scholarship (luckily I’m on mute and my camera isn’t on). Then I might study Japanese.

Lays came out with game day chili chips and honestly they taste like BBQ mixed with crab chips.

those flavors are all over the place and the flavors I end up liking the most often have no correlation to which foods they're trying to imitate that I would have liked the most... like one of my favorite weird flavors they came out with recently were the stuffed jalapeno poppers flavor. I don't like stuffed jalapeno poppers! at all! but those chips were a million times better than, say, the deep dish pizza flavored ones, and I like deep dish pizza
