Dec 01, 2020 19:03

As we come to the end of 2020, OP is inspired to create a list of her top 10 favorite albums of the decade. OP has no authority for any of this and throws herself upon your mercy.

*but there are also three from 2020 because OP can't read her own post

In no particular order:

1. Ceremonials by Florence + the Machine

Folklore... doesn't count as 2010s girl. It literally came out three months ago. We are not in 2010s anymore

Lmaooooo I hate myself I was originally thinking "last decade" (including 2020) and then it became the 2010s but my brain never caught up!!

I have updated the post to properly shame myself

I saw Lissie when she was touring with that album and it was *perfection*.

Taylor's 1989 feels more like a 2010's album than Folklore.

I'm so jealous!! That sounds like an amazing concert. What was she like interacting with the crowd?

And that's totally fair, 1989 was also a very cohesive album.

Lissie was great! She was just very chatty - it wasn't at a huge venue so it was a comfortable crowd size for her, I think.

Agreed, 1989 was THE Taylor album of the 2010s. She dominated the world during that era.

Right off the top of my head, my top 3:

Clinging to a Scheme, The Radio Dept.
I Forget Where We Were, Ben Howard
Young Hunger, Chad Valley

tbh I haven't been much of an album listener lately, I tend to pick off my faves from new releases and listen to those rather than going through a full album over and over (unless I legitimately love it all).

bonus mention to Wasteland Baby! from Hozier which I love a lot but couldn't list as a top fave because I do always skip a couple songs.

also, it doesn't count for this because it just came out, but if anyone knows Olafur Arnalds (or likes atmospheric Icelandic instrumentals), his new album called some kind of peace is incredible.

We're counting albums that came out in 2020 because I can't read!! So you're good lol.

I know what you mean about full albums - sometimes it feels like too much of a commitment. Especially when you can tell there are a bunch of filler tracks. :/

I love Future Nostalgia and folklore. I also like Ceremonials but it's not my fave by Florence and The Machine.
Other of my favorite albums:

Cuz I Love You - Lizzo
Dangerous Woman- Ariana Grande
After Hours - The Weeknd (all his albums tbh)
Lemonade - Beyoncé
When My Heart Feel Volcanic - The Aces
And the Hamilton album

What's your fave from Florence?

I just started listening to After Hours this week (because of the Grammy controversy) and it's great! "Hardest to Love" is soo good.
