It also doesn't help that her costume is dark and she's sitting in front of really dark props/furniture. She would pop and look 10x better if she had been placed at the top.

My first thought. Its really too much, and not in a good way. They really should've toned it down on the selective coloring and and not raise the contrast so much in photoshop
