All love triangles are the worst.

Same, they are just an annoying plot device to create drama and it usually just feels lazy tbh.

I think love triangles always suck tbh.

I guess Dawson/Joey/Pacey is the only one I like but even then Dawson was such a non-entity for me that the triangle was very meh, idk...

I’m convinced the Dawson’s Creek one was an accident that the writer stumbled upon. They wanted that from the jump Joey/Dawson, but Joey and Pacey has the undeniable chemistry. They couldn’t not explore it, but they‘s laid the ground work for Dawson, so...love triangle it is.

At least they let Joey/Pacey play out, though. So many shows refuse to let the actors’ chemistry play out naturally in favor of shoehorning those original pairings.

I haven't rewatched in years so maybe I'm wrong but I liked how Pacey and Joey fell in love troughout that season with minimal Dawson involvement until shit hit the fan. And then there was angst with a ~happy ending~. If it had been some back and forth bullshit I'd have hated it soooo much.

And yes! I'm glad they let Pacey/Joey flourish and actually end up together <3 It would've been a huuuge waste otherwise.

I hate 99% of love triangles. It’s a forced plot device that makes everyone look like dicks and cheapens the endgame because it’s like oh wait are we really soulmates because for a hot second you wanted to sleep with my best friend and also makes the one caught in the middle seem really flakey.

The only love triangle I like is Nate, Blair and Serena in the Gossip Girl books lmao

Also I always tend to ship the “boring” ships in the triangle that don’t work out especially in teen shows like Dan/Blair, Nate/Blair, Veronica/Duncan (yes I know we do exist), Betty/Archie etc.

I just started re-reading the Gossip Girl books. I've forgotten most of it but I do remember they diverge greatly from the series.

Oh, Dan/Blair. So perfect and so brief.

I read this the other day and I disagree sooo much with calling the love triangle in Younger good. It worked at first but now it’s making the show hard to watch, especially with how terribly Liza treats Josh and Charles. JUST CHOOSE ONE!!!! Or neither! idgaf at this point, just make a fucking decision.
/sorry this topic makes my blood boil.

I HATE how the writers ruined Charles and Liza/Charles last season to placate Josh fans. She was clearly never truly all in with Josh because she fell in love with someone else while she was with him. How can all of the sudden she act like she is longing for him when that had never been the case?! Ugh! It made me quit the show tbh.

I love Charles and Liza so much!! She doesn’t deserve him at this point, he gave up so much for her and she doesn’t appreciate it at all. Her lie almost made Pauline take the kids away from him! And she looked horrified when he proposed to her. We waited so long for them to finally get together and then they tried to tank them almost immediately. Josh and Liza are good as friends but they don’t work as a couple at all. I don’t think the writers they think the love triangle is the main draw of the show but they don’t realise it’s actually it’s greatest deterrent. It makes me so sad ☹️

I don't understand either! Josh/Liza got the chance to be happy and we can't even get that. He should've been written off the show last season with his baby mama but nooo. Ugh. Plus Nico is such a pretentious douche irl I can't even stand to watch him.
