Taylor Swift's cardigan topped the Billboard 200 for a 7th (non-consecutive) week with 87k in equivalent album units, up 97% from last week. The bump resulted because of Taylor selling more signed CD copies of the album ( Read more... )

I finally gave this album a listen to this week and honestly, Taylor put her pussy in this one. I listened to it on repeat all week and didn't skip a single song. That's a first for me. I usually only like 2-4 songs on her album.

Personal faves: SEVEN, The 1, August, Peace, Exile, Mirror ball and Cardigan.

Even the ones i don't LOVE, I'm okay with them being there. Mad Woman and Epiphany aren't songs I'd go directly too but if I'm just playing thw album, I don't mind them

I wonder if she’ll be able to tie or surpass her record with 1989/Fearless (both 11 weeks). I’m gonna say no but it’ll be cool if she did!

Right now folklore is tied with Red for seven weeks at #1.

Speak Now was 6 weeks at #1, Reputation was 4 weeks and Lover spent 1.

Me too and I loved Lover when it came out. Folklore is just on another level for her.

Lover has a few songs that would have been 20x better with Folklore-esque production. The contrast is kind of jarring between the two albums and like, hey, the woman contains multitudes but man that acoustic version of Cornelia Street... what could’ve been!

I still listen to it just about everyday, it's great chill music to have on in the background when I'm working.

Honestly in this regard I’m happy for her because what she said about women over 30 in music is true and as such it was sad to see her flailing with ‘Lover’ and trying so desperately, how in just a few years she was legit starting to become culturally irrelevant and kept missing the mark.

With folklore she managed this last minute kick back into the zeitgeist AND she did it with an album that - while not my favourite- is lyrically driven and doesn’t look for any big pop moment and relies on an acoustic sound that her fans have been begging for. You can actually believe she just put it out there with no expectations, and then she finally achieves that success she was chasing so hard before. It’s a nice moment to see in a way.
