Before that I watched Spiral (also on Shudder) which was the social horror. It was decent throughout but it did kind of get weird toward the end, idk.

- Enola Holmes: i liked it. was expecting it to be emptier. henry cavill's sherlock doesn't really read as sherlock but i also loathe sherlock holmes as a character
- Shutter Island: my brain really rejects most films about people descending into insanity (except for madeline's madeline and the lighthouse) so i found it pretty tedious
- A Lovesong For Latasha: was really beautiful and moving
- i'm thinking of ending things: after seeing four of his films i think i just do not connect with kaufman.

One Night in Miami was better. I think it might have stretched the truth in a few places, but not majorly or in a way that felt ahistorical. I would watch it again. Kingsley Ben-Adir was amazing. They all played off of each other well in the hotel room scenes, and everyone was given their moment in the spotlight. I felt at times like I was watching a play.
