I watched p&p for the first time in a few years this past weekend and it’s just so lovely. Thanks Netflix, my DVD circa 2006 isn’t really cutting it in these times lol. I have a mega soft spot for this film for the set design alone. I studied this era in one of my history of architecture/interiors classes in college and writing a paper on this movie was crazy easy, because it was just that perfect. The cinematography is still chefs kiss imo.
Lol same. Everyone was talking about it on twitter recently after someone posted the video clip of the ‘most ardently’ scene so I had to rewatch it immediately. Once I was done I just wanted to start again. I don’t know why it’s so uplifting and lovely. Maybe because all the good characters get what they deserve and the shitty characters do too (No love for Charlotte bingley, Wickham is certain to be miserable with Lydia, lady Catherine gets told) 😂
I just watched Persuasion (2007) and it's wild that I M O idt there's an Austen adaptation that has touched me as much as the 2005 P&P. That and Love & Friendship (2016) but that was in a different way lol. Oh and Clueless of course. But I've never had any attachment to any of these stories
