Her being alone with her hair for the first time means she’s always had the money to pay someone to do her hair and I am fucking jealous

this had me googling her wikipedia and early life section is fascinating:

'Graham was born in Geneva, Switzerland and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her father, Joseph, is of Americo-Liberian descent, and her mother, Natasha, is Jewish (from a family from Poland and Russia). Graham's father was a music executive and the godfather of two of producer Quincy Jones' children. Her paternal grandfather was a UN Ambassador, serving for 40 years in the Netherlands, Sweden, Romania and Kenya. Her parents divorced when she was five. She has a half-brother, Yakov, born in Tel Aviv, Israel. Graham was raised in her mother's Jewish religion and attended Hebrew school.'

So yeah, moneyed AF!

I love her for work on TVD and her absolute commitment to Halloween costumes.

It sounded like she considers it a given that as a biracial child, her white mother /had/ to drop her off at a hairstylist to do her hair rather than learn and do it herself (the mom). :( I hope I’m misreading it.

probably so since it seems like her mom didn't even try to put in the work. but even if kat still has issues with that i don't see her openly talking about her mom like that on camera.

I’ve caught bits and pieces of the video and even though we have different textures I totally got her as someone who is mixed race too.

Aww when starts crying over the conditioner.

Same here bb.

I'll spend a few weeks keeping it natural, but the maintenance takes up so much time - so I end up reverting to braids/ straightening my hair. It's a never ending cycle.

I'm thankful that my Mum taught me how to look after my hair. 🙏
