ngl im a little fatigued from seeing versions of the quote that more or less says, "We can disagree and unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist." but it sums up my feelings abt the matter

nobody is getting fired for misprouncing gif like the peanut butter.

also, we've (myself in the past included!) conflated punishment, consequences, "accountability" etc, all under the big umbrella of ~cancel culture~

i wonder when the phrase was first coined tbh.
