Celebs react to John Lewis' funeral in Atlanta

People gathered at Atlanta's Ebenezer Baptist Church Horizon Sanctuary today for a "celebration of life" honoring the late Congressman John Lewis. President Obama delivered the eulogy. Former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush were also there.

The reactions to a lot of these eulogies has taught me that if Donald Trump was a better orator, he could literally get away with everything. (He already is getting away with everything but there would be like 80% less social media backlash.)

The collective worshipping of Obama and the immediate 'I miss Bush' sentiment in 2016, taught me that too.

Liberals have a short memory when it comes to the policies that never affected their livelihood.

People online are literally falling over themselves about Obama giving an overall really tame “political” eulogy and Bush for reading a PR statement and it’s like “damn we are easily played.”

The Clinton worship has mystified me for decades but now I realize that really all it takes to be worshipped is having a good speechwriter and PR person running your social media.

I mean thats why Hitler was so succesful

Trump lacks the charisma he did if he wasn't so stupid he could get America to do whatever he wanted its the perfect storm for it just like it was for germany after WW1

Every few months Obama takes a break from cutting Netflix deals and giving speeches to the bankers he declined to prosecute to show up to some event and give a pretty speech that makes Democrats who didn't actually start paying attention to politics until 2016 claim to miss him.

I respect John Lewis and his historic work, but it says a lot about how little of a threat he ended up being to white supremacy that a US president feels comfortable saying that he's glad Lewis' politics won out over those of his more revolutionary contemporaries. It should actually be read as an insult to Lewis and his legacy as well (or perhaps a painfully accurate read of what he'd ended up becoming by the end of his career).
