What a fantastic interview. One of the best celebrity interviews I've read. Ruth Negga and @EmmaDabiri talking Audre Lorde, Frederick Douglass, W. E. B. Dubois and there's even some Foucault. No fluff, all https://t.co/WvLBs9nUxV

Ruth says it was worse being both Black and Irish when she moved to London.

I think this makes a lot of sense

She also moved to the area v near Stephen Lawrence's murder and where some of the killers lived. It's still an area where there is a lot of racism and racial tension.

the last thing I did before lockdown was see Ruth do Hamlet - I was literally front and center, and she's such a talent and has an intense charisma.

anyways; love her, will be buying that book by Emma

Yessss thats where I saw it too. I had forgotten I had front-and-center tickets and I just started giggling out of nerves when I got there because I knew my face was going to be so STUPID during it

Ugh, I'm such a huge fan. I was on a trip to Ireland and actually got to see her as Hamlet in Dublin, it was one of the best performances I've ever seen T_T

Can't wait to see what she gets up to next, I was supposed to see her do an Irish play in London sometime in October but obviously, that trip can't happen now :(
