I really enjoyed Damon and Damon and Elena in Season 1 and I did want to see them get together, but some of their dialogue. Her saying, you're a murderer, a terrible person, I have to defend you all the time, blah, blah, but I still love you and I'm not gonna apologize and him saying they are toxic together, but they make it work. I mean, some of that dialogue was so bad. lol

He also told her he was just scared of jumping back in, because he hated himself for how bad he hurt her and said that stuff to push her away and that he didn't mean it. After he cheated he changed and tried everything to show her he was a better man and eventually he earned back her trust and changed for the better. It was one episode of him making her wait, out of the four years, she kept pushing him away, even after they got together. Which is why I don't come down too hard on Wade, cause he did try and make an effort to make things right. She also broke his heart a lot too, before and even after they got together, when she was emotionally cheating with George, still. It doesn't excuse what he did, but I still like him.

And I agree. They had great chemistry.

I listen to a HoD podcast and the cheating episodes were just covered. The host actually thinks Zoe and Wade were equally at fault for his cheating, and I’m just like ?!?!??

The lengths some people go to woobify white, male characters never fails to astound me.

See. I don't think she was equally at fault. I do think she, along with him helped create cracks in their relationship before it even got a chance to get fully started, before the cheating took place. Which she acknowledged. She was still running around thinking about George after asking Wade to be monogamous, then again, after she asked Wade for romance, then again, after they became boyfriend and girlfriend. So I do think her emotional affair didn't really help the relationship or Wade's insecurity. However, Wade stepped out. That was on him and why ultimately it did fall apart. That was his choice, alone. I do think he deserved that second chance, after he proved himself. Which we're talking, a rejected "I love you" from Wade to Zoe and two semi serious relationships between the both of them with other people and over a year after the cheating. So I think enough time had passed and effort on Wade's end, to earn him a second chance. Wade is my favorite character, but no, it most definitely was not Zoe's fault what he did.
