Gaby and Brad left hearts on the post.

He's been appearing on BA's video channel for three years and only got a video contract in January 2020 of this year.

When he says that he had conversations with "specifically a former coworker," I assume he's talking about Alyse Whitney who's story about Antoni Read more... )

Also I'm on the ba subreddit right now, and I can't at people thinking because they think that Brad has ADHD that it's okay for him to interrupt people and be an asshole. Yeah, mental illness can make things more difficult, but it's an explanation not an excuse for hurting people. https://www.reddit.com/r/BonAppetit/comments/h7aykv/this_quote_hits_different_now/

btw, is ADHD classified more as a mental illness or neurodisease?

IIRC it's a "neurodevelopmental disorder" in the DSM-V.

disclaimer: i know literally nothing about this man and have never seen his videos.

in general, ADHD absolutely makes you an impatient interrupting asshole (source: myself with a bike) but you can learn to control your bad habits. there's really no excuse, especially for someone in a job that requires him to work closely with other people, unless he also has a disorder like autism which multiplies the social aspects of ADHD and makes everything terrible but you don't need my autobiography lmao.

edit: further research indicates that he's just generally a douchebag.

I'm not following any of this but as an ESL speaker I have a question when it comes to the use of POC- wouldn't it make more sense to say my black & indigenous colleagues of color instead of my BIPOC colleagues? I always see people using it like that (another example: "woc actresses" when in my head it should read "actresses of color") and it's so confusing. Maybe it's cause I'm thinking in my language and translating but Idk, it sounds strange.

I don't know about yall but I hadn't watched a minute of BA anything until this shit popped off last week (was it last week) and now I know everything and everybody and have watched several episodes! What is this madness. Justice for everyone Sohla, Priya (if her attempts to change things went ignored), HAWA(!!!!!), Rick, Christina, Ryan the assistant, literally everyone who isnt white there.

edit: ay yo, Brad with the hearts can shuuuuuuut the fuck up. His in DMs being a twat about Sohla ~knowing what contract she signed~ and finding out about racism in the lords year 2020. Anyways.

Wow, this workplace is a toxic mess.

Not specific to this guy but I am really tired of the social media posts from people going “I’m just now realising my privilege and I’m learning and listening and growing and blah blah” These are all adults working in an adult environment. Don’t fucking pretend you don’t know when someone else isn’t treated fairly. Don’t fucking pretend you didn’t know your privileges. It’s the 21st century. It is everyone’s responsibility to be aware of this stuff. Why not just be honest and say, “None of this affected me so I didn’t give a shit.”

Idk if you think highly of people or after working at restaurants for most of my 20's I just don't think very highly of humanity, but I truly am not surprise people don't understand their privileges.

Sigh. @queersocialism has a great theory that a lot of people use white privilege when they actually mean white power. Seemingly, a lot of the privilege discourse is obscuring people's power to ignore and benefit from racism and white supremacy in their workplace. It's evil.
