Gaby and Brad left hearts on the post.

He's been appearing on BA's video channel for three years and only got a video contract in January 2020 of this year.

When he says that he had conversations with "specifically a former coworker," I assume he's talking about Alyse Whitney who's story about Antoni Read more... )

Also I'm on the ba subreddit right now, and I can't at people thinking because they think that Brad has ADHD that it's okay for him to interrupt people and be an asshole. Yeah, mental illness can make things more difficult, but it's an explanation not an excuse for hurting people. https://www.reddit.com/r/BonAppetit/comments/h7aykv/this_quote_hits_different_now/

btw, is ADHD classified more as a mental illness or neurodisease?

IIRC it's a "neurodevelopmental disorder" in the DSM-V.

disclaimer: i know literally nothing about this man and have never seen his videos.

in general, ADHD absolutely makes you an impatient interrupting asshole (source: myself with a bike) but you can learn to control your bad habits. there's really no excuse, especially for someone in a job that requires him to work closely with other people, unless he also has a disorder like autism which multiplies the social aspects of ADHD and makes everything terrible but you don't need my autobiography lmao.

edit: further research indicates that he's just generally a douchebag.

it's a considered a mental health disorder. At least, that's what my doctor categorized mine as. Sometimes it's considered a learning disease/disorder in young school age children.

The funny thing is, most people I know with it (myself included) don't consider interrupting something you can't help. Everyone's different obviously, and it is something you struggle with, but for most people if you have any self awareness about you can control it about 90% of the time. he just doesn't give a shit.

I keep going on the subreddit every day or two but it's so frustrating. There will be a couple very well written, informative comments in every post about how POC at BA were systematically fucked. Then there will be like 5 comments underneath replying "but Brad didn't know and that's not as bad as Adam!!" EVEN WHEN THE COMMENT EXPLAINS WHY BEING IGNORANT IS NO EXCUSE.
I keep getting encouraged every time I read a good comment and then leaving in frustration at all the dumbasses that can't comprehend their faves are part of the problem.

it's so tiring to see the whites clutching their pearls at people being rightfully pissed at BA/BA talent. it's Suh-OOOOOOOOOOO infuriating. but not surprising, since the yts were put on a silver platter there.

YEP. Exactly how I feel. I should just look at the posts and not the comments.

I'm white Latina living on a Caribbean island with 70% of my country's citizens being black/brown mestizos. I discovered racism when a woman told other kids I was a gringa visiting from NY and everybody treated me like I was special. I was 10 and never in my life traveled anywhere.

He's an adult working with other adults. How can he not see unless he doesn't want to see?
