Is this the sequel that will just stake place in that world and not really be connected besides referencing the original?

The cheesiness and camp of the original is part of its charm which I don't see a major studio wanting to replicate right now. I also really like Labyrinth as a film for kids because I think there's something a little more complicated going on with Sarah than girls usually get out of female protagonists. Learning to have empathy for others and striving toward your goals despite unfairness is linked with maturity rather than getting into a romantic relationship. The film even lets Sarah be attracted to Jareth and still reject him in the end because he sucks and would treat her like dirt.

Hope they use practical instead of CGI
