I'm nervous because I am going to be working some upcoming cons and either way it's bad for me, if something gets canceled or postponed I will be royally screwed financially, but if it goes ahead people could get sick and attendance may make sales terrible anyway.

I'm glad I didn't sign up for as many cons as I did last year, but I can't afford a huge financial hit this year. I had so many medical expenses last year (including a several thousand dollar ER visit) and I really didn't want to take more hits this year...

im in the same situation as you and i feel for you. fingers crossed that you dont take that bad of a hit :(

it sucks bc its not like selling online will be the alternative, if there is a mandatory quarantine (probably wont happen) people will still be shopping less plus how could you ship product if theres no mail running?

Yeah and like online sales never compare to selling at a con, people are more in a buying mood at conventions because it's part of the experience. I can barely sell in a month what I sell in a day at a con.

I hope you don't take too much of a hit either! I hope you can also stay healthy and make it through con season <3

also at cons you dont have to worry about selling fees, paypal fees, shipping fees.....nothing beats cold hard con cash.

Idt sxsw would cancel unless everyone drops out or Austin made them. Sxsw has not been known to make great choices lol. I wouldn’t mind, be less of headache taking the bus.

We have a confirmed case in houston (fortbend county where I live) and rumors of other cases being hushed since rodeo is still happening! I know its next week and they just installed lots of hand sanitizer spots to "help".

Houston is so effing screwed...

I'm in Austin as well, and I'm surprised with the lady released from CDC care in San Antonio and then went to the mall, it hasn't spread here yet. there was one person being tested but it's pending.

I've been taking emergency management classes towards my major the past few semesters and now I want to get a preparedness kit. I'm planning on asking my fire chief professor about it next class, but if anyone has any recs here that are reasonably priced that'd be great. need to get supplies for our cats too.
