It was so fucking good! Like, I don't think I ever want to watch it again, but it was beautiful and moving and heartbreaking. It's kind of baffling how it was completely overlooked for awards, but I guess Malick is divisive.

genuinely, i felt moved by this film in a way i haven't since lbr at eternity's gate, the other movie that got dust last year even though it was leagues better than the competition

malick is divisive, but imo of all the jackass auteurs in hollywood, he actually makes great movies that push cinema forward instead of just recycling the same bullshit over and over again.

B/c no American/British actors, lbr :/ I thought it superseded Tree of Life in terms of cinematic beauty, it was just magical

I have an Alamo Drafthouse Season Pass and it's only a 5 screen theater, so as of now I have seen everything that's playing there (1917, Uncut Gems, Star Wars, Little Women) but starting tomorrow they're playing Color Out of Space. I saw the preview for that before 1917 and it looks WAY too scary for my weak ass, but it's also getting great reviews so maybe I'll see it at some point.

lol, I had this exact same dilemma with Alamo and that movie, but it just looks too weird even for me. I saw Mandy at Alamo because ~Film Twitter sort of pressured me into it, and I really did not dig it. I've learned my lesson!

I saw the trailer before 1917 and was intrigued but also terrified. I can handle a lot of horror but something about this one just seems like it'll fuck me up.

I love my Alamo pass but I wish they'd switch out the movies a little more often! They clearly need to coordinate with me/us and what I've/we've seen.

They really need to! Especially at this time of year. They took FOREVER to update the schedule this week and I was losing my marbles. D:

Some of my friends got me a criterion collection membership so I rewatched In The Mood for Love a couple of days ago. I hadn't seen it in a long time so it felt like I was experiencing it for the first time again. Absolutely breathtaking. I love everything about it.

I need to find Assassin 33AD somewhere!!!

I’m seeing The Gentleman tonight, I’ll probably see The Turning tomorrow after work and then I have tickets for the midnight CATS Rowdy Screening this Saturday.

So ... a weekend.
