I've gone through many trades (Variety, THR, Deadline, etc etc) and legit publications to see who they've narrowed down as the contenders for the 2020 Oscars, and will focus on the top six

I honestly can't believe how much Uncut Gems has been looked over!! Adam Sandler as Howie Bling was fucking insane and is worthy of a Best Actor nom. Julia Fox deserves some recognition in Best Supporting Actress, the Safdie Bros in Best Director, Daniel Lopatin should be a shoe-in for Best Original Score. It deserves it all!!! I finally saw Parasite and while I really enjoyed it, I kiiiiiiinda think Uncut Gems is the Best Picture of the year

Don’t get me started, this has affected me on a personal level. I get more angry about Julia Fox erasure almost but Adam deserved to be at least a solid sixth man here wild card guarantee too. The script also?? Editing??

i can definitely see it getting big nods like this, including picture and director (and screenplay) without a doubt. whether or not it's going to win any of those big prizes is a different story. with the academy being mostly white and old, they're more likely to veer toward 1917

however, anything is possible. but then if you go by precedence, and just last year alone... the old and white academy voters definitely spoke louder than those voting for 'roma'

i think parasite's got a much stronger chance than roma did last year, for sure, if nothing more than 'it's not a netflix movie'. but at the same time i'm skeptical as hell because while the academy keeps inviting younger and more non-white members every year, those old white guys who aren't reading subtitles are still the majority

i've had people tell me it's a legit good movie and i'm just '.....' i've seen lifetime movies with better acting and overall quality of filmmaking

everything i read about that movie sounds horrible. some of my friends were even saying how powerful it was and i just wanted to tell them to read a book on harriet instead.

its wild. the best actress race is really awful this year. lupita should be winning in a cakewalk but yet theres a chance she wont even be nominated. trash.
