I honestly can't believe how much Uncut Gems has been looked over!! Adam Sandler as Howie Bling was fucking insane and is worthy of a Best Actor nom. Julia Fox deserves some recognition in Best Supporting Actress, the Safdie Bros in Best Director, Daniel Lopatin should be a shoe-in for Best Original Score. It deserves it all!!! I finally saw Parasite and while I really enjoyed it, I kiiiiiiinda think Uncut Gems is the Best Picture of the year

Don’t get me started, this has affected me on a personal level. I get more angry about Julia Fox erasure almost but Adam deserved to be at least a solid sixth man here wild card guarantee too. The script also?? Editing??

I agree with everything you said. Uncut Gems was brilliant. (direction, cinematography, editing, score) Sandler getting a nomination is all I want this year, but it feels like the buzz has deflated. It feels like there's no momentum behind it. It would be such a nice surprise nom.

I loved it way more than I expected to and I'm rooting for Sandler to get a nom. Never thought I'd say those words, but hey, we've been living in the Upside-Down for a while now.

"A charismatic jeweller makes a high-stakes bet that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime. In a precarious high-wire act, he must balance business, family, and adversaries on all sides in pursuit of the ultimate win."

it's a relentless, sensory rollercoaster of a film to say the least

I loved Gems, but there's absolutely no way the Academy goes for it.

I didn't love Uncut Gems as much as Twitter seems to, but Adam Sandler and Julia Fox 100% deserve acting nominations more than some of the people getting nominated. The same goes for the Safdies and for Lopatin.
