idg what happened between them like they were together forever and then first everyone was like she doesnt want kids then it was he doesnt want kids now they both have or are about to have kids and they were together for so long i feel like it should've been established

I feel like it was pretty obvious he wanted marriage and kids (he wore a ~commitment ring, kept making excuses for why they weren't married from "we're both kids of divorce" to "we'll get married when she wants to") then she was with Reedus and having a baby.

Joshua Jackson has seemed super happy since getting married and daddy-to-be so...? 🤷🏽‍♀️

I feel like this happens so often. One part of a couple, that are together for a while, doesn’t want to get married/have children. Then they broke up and both get married/have children short after.
I wonder if it’s more of a “I don’t want to feel like I am behind my ex on life” thing or just a “I was just with this person for convenience and waiting for someone better” kind of thing.

Diane and Joshua were together for such a long time and I always wondered who didnt want kids in that relationship bc they both ended up having kids with other partners in such a short period of time.

Maybe they spent so much time together that when they broke up it hit them that they were getting older and time was running out, and that they had to find other people to start over with before it was too late? At least in Dianes (or any woman’s) case- that’s usually why women who usually find someone when they’re a little older get pregnant almost immediately after.

I'm in my mid-30s and have seen this happen a bunch now. I think breaking up with someone you spent a huge chunk (sometimes most!) of your adult life with can be traumatic and makes you reevaluate a lot of things, and sometimes it's just timing. I do think a lot of people assume that the person you go on to have kids with is the "right" one but I've seen those relationships fall apart, too.
