Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's Kylo Ren and Rey moment wasn't always going to happen https://t.co/UrgNS6ATXI - Digital Spy Film (@digitalspyfilm) January 3, 2020
That's funny because the people I went with (who had no idea about any discourse about this pairing beforehand) thought that it was ridiculously out of place and complained about it without me even having to ask. There was an audible groan in the audience when it happened as well (and the audience was basically dead silent throughout the rest of the film, except for like 2-3 laughs).
So, yeah. This ain't convincing anybody. They just wanted to cater to a very small but vocal section of fans and it backfired spectacularly.
The things that certain people love, other people hated. And that’s the phenomenon of ‘Star Wars.’”
this is a laughably bad justification. so you can make shitty creative decisions because at least some people will like it. and that's def a misunderstanding of why ppl love sw. i'm for gatekeeping if it shield's me from dumb takes like this.
I don't mind Bendemption but they did it terribly. It was so dumb to be like "this is about honoring the Skywalkers!!!!" and then kill off all of them.
