I think it was just saying to tip better in 2020. Not for everyone to tip that amount lol.

I gave a stylist at one of those salons in the mall a nearly 50% tip. Granted it wasn't a very expensive hair cut but it was after a surgery and she was polite and made me look and feel pretty after a few weeks of looking horrible.

50% tip for hairstylists is usually what you are supposed to tip, though

Is it? Not being sarcastic I’ve asked so many people and I never get a answer that high I never know what’s right because sometimes my hair takes hours so 20% isn’t enough but sometimes it’s quick but it cost a lot and then I’m like well that seems okay

It's the unspoken standard rate for tipping, because hairstylists can literally work hours on a client's hair and only get paid for the average $40 cut. I have always tipped 30% to 50%. I'm speaking from experience as a stylist and having stylist friends that have rates from $15/cut to $600/color.
I've sat for 8 hours to get my hair colored and I realized my stylit at the time closed his entire schedule for the day just to work on my hair. I can't imagine paying him just $180 and $20 tip for a whole day's work when he easily could have made 10 times that amount if he worked on his other (and richer) clients.

Don't let me rain on your parade though! There are people who don't even tip and think the asking rate is a flat rate... They're mostly straight men.

Every holiday season I choose either Christmas or New Years day to get coffee and then tip the barista $200. I figure if they're working over the holidays they deserve a treat.

I'm a really big tipper in general cause I can afford to be. One of my best friends worked as a waitress while we were living together and it really drove home how important tips tend to be for people.

I have to give credit where its due; he's known to be a very generous tipper. Didn't he, Markie, and the rest of them grow up blue collar? People who come from not much tend to spread it around when they make good, unlike certain Hollywood royalty people who have always grown up with money.
