I enjoy family epics, but I liked her other book better (if I remember correctly).

Same. Her other book is much better. I read Everything I Never Told You first and then Little Fires Everywhere and I was pretty disappointed by the latter in comparison to the former.

My experience was the opposite. I found Everything I Never Told You underwhelming but I loved Little Fires Everywhere.
