She was an iconic scene stealer in those roles, but I get it. If it weren't her playing them, those characters would be less memorable.

Can't speak on Downton, but the HP movies were all about the young protaganists, so I can see how the work wouldn't have been much of an undertaking for her.

I haven't seen Downton, but I was under the impression she played a more important role on that show, so that's a bit more shocking.

The first couple seasons, I'd say yes, but after a while her character became more of a "granny dgaf and says shockingly impolite things! How amusing"

That’s exactly it.

The scene in the episode where Sybil died was amazing. She outshone everyone in 5 seconds.

that's too bad because her role as mcgonagall was iconic and no one could have played the character better

McGonagall is one of the reasons they should've included Peeves, so she could tell him in OOTP "it unscrews the other way"

mm yeah. but i don't know harry potter films are my childhood and i have hard time looking at them through critical eyes so i pretty much like all of the films. so yes maybe she would have been more satisfied with her role if she would have gotten more to do but i personally felt like she had a good role throughout the series and she was a scene stealer in many occasions.

i think both roles are iconic from a viewer's perspective, but probably not very meaty or enjoyable from an actor's perspective

I get it, there wasn't a whole lot for her to do.

I'm just here to say that I'm incredibly disappointed at Toby Stephens right now.

This election is SO hopeless and depressing. It’s like choosing which form of torture you’d prefer; thumbscrews, or needles in the eyes. Is this the best we can do? I really can’t bare any of them. What the hell happened to us? #Election2019, #BorisJohnson , #corbyn

idk, that's it? one tweet? cause off that, i get it. most americans felt that way about the last election. they've even talked about how many held their nose to vote for hillary (yo)and how the candidates both polled the least of every other candidate in history. sometimes the choices aren't great. sometimes your person doesn't get the nomination. you can still hope your party overall wins, and cringe at their leadership potential. most americans kept saying the last election that they wished there were better options, so i get it. /shrug.

That makes more sense then. thanks bb.

There is no hope for these old white dudes who don't see the bigger picture and how Brexit is just a whitewash and crippling their country on every other level because Britain had to take her white ball and go home. smdh.
