JAY-Z, "hip-hop’s first billionaire," spared no expense when it came to inviting VIP guests to his inaugural Shawn Carter Foundation Gala. Instead of standard VIP passes, Jay-Z sent Rolex watches to his special guests.

I’m SO glad younger generations are becoming more and more critical of billionaires/multimillionaire types rather than hold them on pedestals as aspirational figures like before. Accountability is everything right now, and millennials are tired of suffering in debt and low wages.

We are witnessing the unraveling of one of the great pretensions of our age.

All along, we were told that these billionaires really cared about equality and justice above all. Bill Gates was trotted out as the example of choice when others behaved more dubiously.

I see people throw his name around as an example of a celebrity activist but like, you can not be this much of a wealth hoarder/capitalist and an activist sorry.

He would have over $6 billion left over, which is about what the average American would earn if they worked for 95,000 years https://t.co/k1gcCw26Cy

Someone actually did the math. TL;DR, not in 300 years (if he were immortal).

Earlier today Bill Gates in an interview said he doesn't like Elizabeth Warren's wealth tax because he thinks he will have to pay "$100 billion" and he will have to do "a little math"(?).

That sounded wrong, so I did the math.
