I love it. I was listening to a podcast recently (I think it's Nicole Byer's) and she was talking about "I'm fine with my body, I just don't think about it?" and it felt like a total light bulb moment for me. I just wanna be able to wear cool clothes without having to force a feeling about how much they flatter my body or don't. It's the one I wake up in every day and I'm not a person who really struggles with disordered eating, but feels much more realistic to push less of a focus on fashion and still needing to "look good" to ourselves. It's fine if you look like how you look. It doesn't say anything about you as a person on the inside one way or the other really ( ... )

That's an interesting thing with difference between reaction to Lizzo and Ariana posting sexy~ pics. Do you have a link to that?

Sorry for the late response but here you go! Now that I'm skimming it, it doesn't look like she mentioned Ariana specifically so maybe I filled in there. I recommend the whole interview. She talks a lot about her journey to self acceptance.

LOL Taylor is def making up for being quiet about things back then.

I see you sneaking in that "internalized misogyny" mention Tay Tay

as if I don't think about my weight issues literally every day of my life

I think this is what people don't understand about fat people... like, we know what the fuck we look like! no comments about it, well meaning or otherwise, are gonna provide me with any new info.

I'm sorry your mom makes those comments - she probably doesn't that not only are they unhelpful, they are actively hurtful.

Seriously, THIS. When I see ppl put out that bullshit that “fat people should be shamed into losing weight” I’m like?? We know we’re fat? We live in our bodies every fucking day. We know. If it were as simple as just losing weight, most of us would be thin. Things like medical issues, depression, and eating disorders exist, and you can not diagnose any of them by looking at us.

The fact that it’s such a radical idea to give fat people the same respect and space in the world we do anyone else makes me want to scream, and also hide under my covers forever.

also being fat doesn’t mean they’re unhealthy. also, no one owes anyone health! shaming someone because of health is an incredibly asshole-ish thing to do

I don't totally mind it but she totally is lol.

Which is kinda funny that she wouldn't have had to prove it to people/make up had she not used it as album promo back then.
