Yep, and as word gets around the kids, I'm finding out from a lot of the parents that the kid he bit is VERY energetic. It doesn't excuse the biting AT ALL, but it does give me a little more info for perspective. Poor kid had literally moved here 3 days before. :(

Lol idk. I have a 60lb bulldog who thinks he’s a lap dog and has bulldozed a lot of my friends kids.

It doesn't have to be intentional for a small kid to get hurt. That's a big dog, size alone could cause harm (dog gets startled and rolls, for example).

I don't let my dog near kids on walks because he's big and excitable and he could easily knock them over, bark in their faces, go in for an open mouthed kiss, etc., etc. He would never intentionally hurt a person, I'm fully confident of that, but accidents are all too possible.
He does fine with my nephew in our house, but that's a more controlled environment and they are always supervised.

You are right, people should be prepared for accidents no matter how well-behaved their dog (and child) is. Obviously the parents are right there watching this dog/baby combo though, I'm sure no responsible parent would leave their kid on a dog tummy unsupervised.
