It's been a while, man, life's so rad. Huge thank you to @weezer for sending me a gold record in honor of the certification of the song, this was absolutely crazy! #WeezerCoverAfrica pic.twitter.com/tYrC77nJj4

Personally it's more so a case of I'd like to hear more covers OF my favorite bands! I like hearing different interpretations of songs I already love. My most recent fav was this one that turned an MCR song into an awesome acoustic pop-punk sounding jam and it worked so well! I never would have thought of it and the band gets major props for actually doing a cover correctly (as in, not copying it so it sounds essentially exactly the same.)

That’s been a common criticism of Weezer’s album of covers they did, and Rivers said it was intentional because he found it more challenging to try to figure out what the original artist was doing than to just put fuzzy guitars over a song to make it sound like Weezer.

Speaking of MCR covers- have you heard the "Welcome to the Black Parade" one by Alex Lahey? Gerard Way instagrammed about it- i really love it!

ONTD, if you could ask your favorite band to cover a song, what would it be?

I asked Tori Amos to play Famous Blue Raincoat and she did.

Their cover is just OK. You can't beat the original.
