i just saw IT2 and did anyone else think jessica chastain was........bad? lmao i generally really like her as an actress, but she was just awful in this. like that scene where she finds eddie with the knife wound, i was like 'what is this days of our lives acting jessica!' i thought virtually every other cast member did a better job than her, even the no-names like used-to-be-fat guy

she was pretty bad, but tbf, they didn't give her much to do besides scream and kiss the other losers.

MTE. They literally made her a damsel in distress in all the darn scenes.

IT 2 was a let down, but it was funny enough that i don't regret seeing it. just wish they would've cut down on the repetitive scares and given us some more new lore to go on. the only surprising element in the whole film was Richie's storyline, which was pretty good, but i needed more. should've kept the pennywise baby-eating scene from the og script.

Colbert’s looking like the clown in that still.

i feel like the second half really dragged and then it got like...too science fictiony?? does that make sense? anyways the ending made me cackle even tho it wasn't supposed to be funny.

it really fell off after the first 40 minutes and they all split up to go look for their token or whatever it they were looking for

i thought stan's suicide was the most well done sequence, and i really liked how they reframed him as a hero instead of a coward in the end. everything else was pretty stupid

i've never read the book, only seen the original mini series and the first chapter of this one and yeah.. like, a killer clown from space? cool, i guess.

it's just not a story that's conducive to being adapted to film or series. there's too much background context and interconnectivity with other works required to make it make sense.
