If Beetlejuice makes it to spring it's being evicted so the music man can take over at winter garden. Bleh.

I was reading rumors of some sort of theater swap/shakeup... that sucks! :/

Where can it even go with that giant set?

This year's spongebob. Theater gets renovated or a shubert has a hard on for hugh Jackman and it's not making enough to justify the evidence of moving the giant house set.

It's not a revolutionary show but it's so fucking funny.

I've been listening to the Moulin Rouge soundtrack and I'm not really feeling it but I'll give it a few more listens before passing judgement. ETA: I know the original was already a jukebox musical but why are there like fifty more songs crammed into this? I got so taken out of Sparkling Diamond when it just switched to Single Ladies.

Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite movies of all time, so it is hard for me not to be attached to the original cast. I haven't seen the Broadway show yet and would like to, but I feel like I wouldn't be able to appreciate it. So, I may be in the minority here in saying I do not like this rendition of El Tango De Roxanne at all.

I'm a total MR stan too and the musical was hard to swallow for me at times - there are a lot of thematic things they changed but imo not foe the better. However it is a really fun watch, and they capture the essence of the club really well

The only good thing about the new Elephant Love Medley is the inclusion of Tina Turner and Regina Spektor.

Also, the whole soundtrack sounds SO overproduced.

Like I don't hear the yearning/passion/pain. It sounds radio friendly tbh. The Duke singing Rihanna just sounds absurd.

The lack of yearning etc is a problem i have with the show too :( the album is fun and i love watching the show but i dont feel they really tried to capture the heart of the movie

Moulin Rouge! is one of my favorite movies, but it's a big cheese-fest so I know it isn't perfect. I wanted to like the OBCR, but just... I shut it off 25 seconds into 'Shut Up and Raise Your Glass.' it feels like college when my friends listened to Girl Talk mashups. I've also never really gotten in to Aaron Tveit. he has a nice voice, but he's so bland.

that said, I would still like to see it live. the visuals could definitely help, as well as breaks even in the mashups for little scenes or dialogue that make them easier to handle.
