Is it? I know John Travolta is big into planes, and that ships are a big deal to them...aviation does make sense, though, the more I think of it. What with the aliens and all.
l. ron hubbard was in the navy and was later a licensed glider pilot (couldn't pass the qualifications for powered aircraft, oop). a lot of the ~super secret upper level scientology shit describes alien tech in terms of american ships and planes. its fucking insane and you truly have to be brainwashed to believe it.
So bizarre. The whole thing is so boggling. Dude couldn't find success in so many areas (science fiction, military, inter-personal relationships) but managed to create a freaking enterprise. Like, he was a horrible person and Scientology is an awful cult, but goddamn if it's not a booming business with tons of ~true believers~ with unwavering loyalty, willing to shell out and do whatever for the cause. It's really remarkable. I mean, it's bad, but it's amazing, you know? Such skillful manipulation and exploitation. It's crazy.
I saw my cousin watching the trailer and for a moment got pissed off cos I thought he was watching an add for the US military. I seriously wonder how much of Hollywood the military owns cause that trailer was a lot.
