THE LION KING is a disaster.

forget the circle of life, this is the creatively bankrupt work of a studio eating itself alive. it doesn’t feel like a remake so much as a photorealistic snuff film.

i truly hated this movie. my review: https://t.co/hN7uZpowLJ pic.twitter.com/cyRmClca38

Literally everything about this film is unnecessary.

omg I’ve been waiting for this

Hans Zimmer!!! a genius!! The ~updated~ score sounds so good

Can’t Feel The Love Tonight,,, Mr Glover... I am unimpressed. He just sounds weird to me?? Like too low and towards the end he just fades out to me while Bey does her thing (she sounds amazing!!!).

I'm very excited to listen to Zimmer's score in Imax. Get those tunes into my ears! I was watching one of those "artist breaks down their career" videos starring him, and it was funny that initially he didn't want to do Lion King and really only accepted the offer because it was a film premiere he could actually take his 6-year-old daughter to. And then while working on it, he had a shift of perspective where the "silly animal" movie became this deeply personal thing to him as someone who had lost their father at a young age (and it shows! That score is still amazing). And I do think it's funny that something he at first resisted ended up winning him his first and only Oscar.

what!!!! I had no idea omg this is such a cool fact. I really had no idea! I knew he only had the one Oscar but I never watched the speech which I am really about to try and look up.

To Die For.. and King Of Pride Rock on the original literally leave me in awe every time and you can really just feel all the emotions put into it. So to hear the new score with updates and it’s so so beautiful

Yeah, I thought he'd had another one by now but not yet.

I used to listen to the Stampede track on a loop in high school. I might have the piano sheet music somewhere too

Well at least John Oliver's Zazu is amusing?

I'm very attached to Rowan Atkinson's delivery in the original movie so it was a weird relief that John Oliver is basically hitting the same notes, lmao. Though somehow still not as snide but whatever, it's a new thing
