Just saw Midsommar and....I just didn’t like it. Maybe I just didn’t get it. It certainly left me going “what the sweet fuck?” numerous times.

same, it was just kind of weird for the sake of being weird and I didn’t really care about any of the characters. Even Dani just felt kind of hollow.

It also just didn’t really seem to build at all. Every time something happened and I thought it was gonna get tense it just turned into a three minute weird cult dance scene??

Cinematography was beautiful though and I’ll continue to see Ari Asters movies.

I think I mostly agree with yall. It would get super tense and then nothing would happen. My main problem is that outside of the British couple the characters didn't seem afraid enough. Like, they were all a bit too calm for such weird shit to be happening around them.

the movie definitely has comedic parts but the audience was just laughing incessantly at EVERYTHING, even things that weren't objectively funny. completely dampened the horror element.

Ugh I hate having an audience like that. It really does ruin the mood when they laugh way too much at everything. I once had the chance to see the original Halloween in a theater and the experience was completely ruined because most of the audience insisted on guffawing at absolutely everything. It's not even a funny movie?

Watched the first episode of Good Omens on the plane... not entirely sold, but will watch another ep or two to make a decision. I do love David Tennant!

Dying to see Midsommar, but probably won't get the chance til next week.

i think it took me two or three episodes to get into the show and by get into the show i mean realize that david tennant is hot.

Have you seen the Fright Night remake with Tennant? I felt like he was channeling that character a touch on Good Omens.
