While at a con in Vegas yesterday, J2 explained (at the 29:23 mark) the CW didn't make the decision to end the show - it was a "community decision", one they've thought about a lot and talked about with each other, the cast, and crew. As expected, they also said they want to spend more time with their families. And this is the first time they want ( Read more... )

I very much love what Jensen was wearing yesterday, tbh. And I can't blame either of them for wanting to be with their families. Still sad but I'm so glad Jared and Jensen will have input next season and will likely help with the ending.

Also, enjoy whatever the fuck cowboy!Jensen was doing here (God, I love it when he sings)

Not entirely sure of the context but Rob was asked a sex question about J2 and Misha and decided to fuck all three of them

. @RobBenedict on his "list": @JensenAckles, @jarpad and @mishacollins . No wait Jared last bc he'd kill me and I'd never have sex again #spnvegas pic.twitter.com/nfGNEyg9WG

They mentioned yesterday they've signed on to do cons after the show ends, so at least through 2020. After that? There'll likely be some but not as many.

Surprised and worried that this wasn't CW's decision

The CW president has said from the beginning (over and over for years) that it was up to the boys to decide when they were done with the show, and that time is finally here.

Thats good for the guys! Other shows very rarely get that kind of bump up. Sad it's ending but I know its time.

This is me. I'm still sad and even though I know it's time, I'm going to miss the show. I've been watching since the very beginning! It's been a big part of my life and was my first fandom.

They'll be free! Jocking aside, it's nice that they all agreed to end it, it must suck when you have a cushy job and it ends because the star/a co-star wants to move on (as it's their right).

Right? My buddy has been editing parts of this show for a few years, and they finally let him direct an episode this season. Hopefully he can get a few more episodes under his belt before they wrap.

Oh LOL I think that was Don't Go Into the Woods. I'm sorry to say I don't think that episode was very well received. Too much NougatSue turning Dark Beige and trying to be friends with neighborhood "kids" and Dean and Sam being treated like guest stars in their own show for most fans but that's not his fault. It's the writers and I'm sure one of the reasons Jensen and Jared decided to pull the plug, "writing on the wall it was time for the show to end", "like putting down a beloved dog because you don't want to see it suffer" - I'd say they are not here for the writers anymore.

However I do recall everyone being very impressed by the scary bathroom in that episode, so tell him big thumbs up on that.

I’ve never seen a full episode if I’m being honest.

I wish they would have had creative input seasons ago, to be honest.

Yes! I wondered for years why they weren't producers but they explained at some point a while ago that they didn't want that extra work.

Some of their other comments this con made is super clear they aren't happy with the story direction under Dabb lol, so I think they kinda got to the point where they had to pick between keeping the show going and getting that $$$ vs letting Dabb run it into the ground and decided to try and preserve as much as possible. TBH I'd like to congratulate Dabb on ending this show by his power of incompetence.
