Us having so many nominees is not doing the Dems any favors and will be a factor when we lose the presidency again next year.

Agreed. Every nominee announced after like the 8th person pisses me off. We're going to lose because they can't get their shit together.

I think I disagree with this. If you look at most of the platforms or listen to the candidates, most of them aren't that far off from each other. There are definitely differences, but the idea that a lot of candidates are running around the country, spreading mostly a centralized message might be helpful. I don't know if it wins back the Presidency. I mean, I don't know if anyone can beat Trump with the Electoral College. I think he'll probably lose the popular vote again. But it's not bad for democrats to be out there talking about democratic messaging all over the place.

I will say that I live in Iowa and I've seen five candidates. I have two that I plan to attend this weekend. I may not like a particular candidate, but it reinforces how I feel about the overall democratic message. I also suspect folks are going to start dropping out in the next 2-3 months because they won't be able to afford to go on.

Are you seeing Andrew Yang? He's supposed to be in Iowa soon I think.

I love her but really hope she doesn’t. Like stay in Georgia and work to fix shit like you said you would. I just wish most of these fucking people could just stop flip flopping and do what you said you were gonna do. All this indecisiveness ain’t cool.

i've already conceded trump is likely gonna win again so i'm not getting too invested

i fucking hate meghan mccain but she's right when she says republicans fall in line and we don't. like obviously there's a lot of complexity when the umbrella is so big but it seems like at a certain point it becomes unproductive on a national level, which is what seems to be happening. everyone loved beto, abrams, etc when they were in their respective lanes but the attitude shifts on the national stage. it's an interesting occurrence that makes me pessimistic about the progressive moment when it comes to the obtaining the presidency

I spoke with an AP reporter out of Chicago at a presidential campaign event in a small town in Iowa that I attended. She said that everybody in Iowa that she talks to (she's assigned to cover Klobuchar and Buttigieg) says they want to beat Trump. I guess there's a unifier. lol

It's because unlike Republicans, they just need one reason to vote for someone whereas Democrats just need one reason not to vote for someone. No one is ever woke, liberal, centrist, moderate, capitalist, anti-capitalist, etc enough. That's why once again we're going to lose because literally none of these candidates are "perfect".

You're right. They don't have the purity tests. I have a few (not many) friends who are conservative and one voted for Trump because of abortion and filling the SCOTUS seat. He's religious and doesn't like Trump, but if it helps pass the agenda that he wants to fill, he doesn't care. Which means he won't think twice about voting for Trump again. In fact, I think he's even doubled down saying how much more he likes the policies, etc...
