Seriously all these companies/tv networks doing their own streaming services is going to backfire on them terribly. No one is going to want to pay for 18 different services. If netflix/hulu is willing to pay let them pay.

this is ridiculous. one of the great things about netflix (and to an extent hulu and then amazon prime) is that you pay like $12 a month for a MASSIVE catalogue of shows/movies, which allows you to discover things you ordinarily wouldn't have. and no doubt tons of networks that are now taking their content off of netflix to start their own streaming services have benefitted from this greatly in the past.

i don't know what the marketing/business term is for needing a big/diverse enough array of product to justify your existence but does Warner Bros really think they can get people to pay $10+ more/month (on top of what they're already paying for other shit) to watch Friends and all their CW shows? Really???

But maybe the streaming platforms are finding that they aren't making enough money? Like half of the shit that I see on there I never watch. Who knows how much they're paying for the content ?
I'm totally guessing lol idk, but they're going to keep raising the prices I feel and good content is getting pulled or canceled...

From the little I understand about financials, Netflix isn't doing great financially and it's current model isn't sustainable with the subscriptions they have at the rate they charge, so I am really wondering how it's going to fare with Disney and now CW, taking away their content. On the one hand, presumably they'll save some funds and be less in the red, but what will that mean for their catalogue and the subscribers who are only subscribing for specific content?
