I mean good that they are benching him even though this is for awards-purposes.

But could they actually remove him for awards consideration? cause even if he can't speak he still is counted in the win though.

This is an example of where I think we'll be able to see if the Academy's attempt at diversity has been substantial, because the Academy of five years ago wouldn't give a damn about this, and would vote for their feel-good film regardless of any controversy. I'm hoping that increasing and diversifying the membership over the past few years (and into the future) will keep films like this from getting rewarded.

So if (ugh, when) it wins more stuff, they're just gonna awkwardly avoid mentioning him, like the BR cast firmly avoiding mentioning Singer? I feel like this happened when Cate Blanchett was winning stuff for Blue Jasmine, too. If only men could, I don't know, actually control their behavior and not do shitty things in the first place.
