We saw Widows at AFI Fest last night, which I enjoyed. There were some powerful performances (Viola Davis and Elizabeth Debicki in particular, with Daniel Kaluuya being menacing as hell) and beautiful cinematography. I didn't love it, though. I had some issues with the plot, the action scenes, and the character development. Overall it's a fine action drama, and I'd recommend it, just keep your expectations in check.
Other films I've seen this week: Can You Ever Forgive Me? (great), Vox Lux (excellent), and Under the Silver Lake (interesting). I've talked about them all a bit in other posts, but am happy to answers any Q's you may have about them!

Is Sia's music any good in Vox Lux?
And I'm jealous you've gotten to see Can You Ever Forgive Me? I really want to see that. I actually got my library to add Lee's ebook to their catalog, lol.

I look forward to hearing some music by Sia that isn't mumbled, lol. Unless she does the vocals, then I guess I will deal.
