It's so annoying that you hear about method actors like Tom Hardy or Jared Leto (up until that stupid Joker movie when he was finally rightly criticized for his actions) acting like complete and total assholes or directors like David O. Russell being shitty and at least verbally abusive to cast and crew members and they seem to get away with being called tortured artists.

That's what pisses me off. Like don't be a dick to me outside of work so you can get to know acting. If you're doing that, guess what, you're a shitty actor in my opinion.

Guess why there's no female method actors.

I am so excited for Widows. SO EXCITED. Mostly for Viola/McQueen because Viola is SO talented but because she's a black woman and she's over 30 a lot of "prestige" directors don't have roles for her. This is legit the first time I think she's working with a director on her level and I can't wait to see what they've made.

She was really wasted in that Michael Mann movie. That movie was such boring shit in the first place, and then her role was so sadly basic

I'm so fucking hyped for Widows

On one hand, I get the point he's making and Michelle is known for not wanting to take sexist roles so I can see that rubbing a lot of men the wrong way.

On the other, Michelle is known for being a total mess; she's been arrested for assault, a hit and run, and multiple DUIs, at least one of which has gotten her fired.

It's not easy being female in any kind of working environment. And this whole corporate take your seat at the table thing is bullshit.

My female managers have always told me that I'm hard to work with, and that my personality is abrasive. Now, and previously when my locations have went all male except for me I'm told that I'm not loud enough, and that my management doesn't want to coach me because they don't want to offend me. Just yesterday a male manager told me he couldn't look me in the eyes because they were too pretty.

It's so fucking gross men can (and do) get away with saying shit like this all the damn time. The fucking nerve.

jeeeesus, I'm so sorry you have to put up with that. and it's so true, you can never win, I've gotten "you're too quiet, like a mouse, be more assertive" and "you're too abrasive, you come off as bitchy" 50/50, it's like... what is the truth??? lmao
