Hmmm, I wonder what will win the People's Choice? I feel like the most unanimous praises so far have been for ASIB and Beale Street.

And OP, did you see?

YESSSS FINALLY

i think it'll definitely be between 'A Star is Born', 'Widows', and 'If Beale Street Could Talk' (as if they're not going to be big oscar contenders anyway)

I have a feeling I have been hearing about Death and Life for a year and a half. I thought it came and went!

Can you imagine if Gaga ends up being an EGOT winner?

that's not too surprising, most EGOT winners are in the music field (just because actors generally don't get grammys). i mean she'll definitely at least win the best song oscar this year anyway

She could easily do a TV show/mini-series again. She already did AHS and won a Golden Globe.

I haven't seen a michael moore movie in years specifically because they're so depressed

which is weird because I saw him at the og women's march and he was very action oriented / not depressing

i'm sort of ??? over the voting this year for TIFF bc in previous years you had to go to their site and punch in your ticket # as a vote. and then the last 2 years you had to download their app which was wonky - I couldn't get it to work at all last year so I couldn't vote, and now this yr it's like, a complete 180 bc you just have to go to their site and type in the movie you want to vote for and enter your email address. doesn't seem like you have to have seen it? i'm confused.

anyway i'm always gonna be trying to go to the free screening so I hope A Star Is Born doesn't win. I don't just want to see it, agh. for my heart's sake I want If Beale Street Could Talk to win so that more ppl get to see it and it gets the hype, but for my own sake I want Widows to win bc I couldn't get tix to see it AGH.
