Ugh I have a fear of being a hoarder so I threw it out. I'm kicking myself for it tho bc I'm sure I still hate late fees on my account.

I NEVER accrued late fees. I was too anxious to not return on time. I had my borders card in my wallet up until a year ago. I finally convinced myself to take it out.

I was so bummed when my local video rental store closed (it was only a couple of years ago, it lasted so much longer than I would have expected). Growing up, it was such a ritual to get pizza and pick out a movie. First, with your family, then with your friends when you were older. The video store was the place to see people on the weekends.

Same! My friends and I would go to each other's houses, rent movies, and buys pizza and junk food every Friday. We were really sad when it closed down.

I think the only part I truly miss - if I take off the nostalgia goggles - is wandering the aisles and discovering movies based on the box cover art. That's how I found so many of my favorite movies back in the day. That's what got me to watch movies I'd never heard of.

This is depressing.

There's a video store in my town that is still open. It's not in the greatest location but they show no sign of closing. It used to be JUST an adult video store and then they changed to all movies. I've never gone in though.
