i grew up riding competitively so i like to think i’m alright. haven’t been on a horse in a minute though. really want to get back to it but boarding here is ~$2,500/m not including grooming, turn outs, etc

for the most part, i've ridden racehorses and racing ponies (ponies are harder than horses imo. way too bouncy! made me want to gain weight so that i was too big to ride them :P). i've worked with all kinds, but my faves will always be suffolk punches and other carthorses. they're just giant sweet babies <3, and i actually feel safer with them compared to shetlands (who are lil shits and should never be trusted!!!!).

i'm not a 'horse person'. i can work with them, and i've handled some very temperamental horses and donkeys without much issue, but i don't have that bond with them if you guys know what i mean? it's a shame because they're lovely animals.

The smaller the horse, the bigger the jerk tbh.

No lie detected. I always laugh when people get scared by the big horse. Honey, your fear is misfounded and you should fear the little shit you can´t see in his stall but will break out of when you turn your back

I grew up riding and owned a horse until I went to college. It broke my heart to give my mare up, but she got to go on to become a therapy horse after we parted (she was getting older and mellowed the hell out) and lived the good life until she passed away a few years ago.

I still will ride at my niece’s barn occasionally, but I keep it mostly hack status.

I had to quit riding when I went to college but I was obsessed until then. I could never afford my own horse but I part-boarded an ottb for years and basically retrained him from scratch. I'd really love to start again but it's so expensive..
